New Madrid Count Central DE Kony Ealy just signed his LOI at a signing ceremony at his high school minutes ago and took the time to talk with ShowMeMizzou.com about now being a Missouri Tiger officially."
"It feels great to be a Tiger" said Ealy. "It is a lot of pressure off you back to make thigns official and get the signing out of the way. Now I can look forward to doing what I have to do, rasie a couple of core courses in the classroom and then head to Mizzou in June."
I asked Kony what he expected once he arrived at Missouri in his first year.
"The thing I expect the most is a good education. I understand that I am going there to play football, but getting my education will be the most important thing to me. Football wise, I will work hard to see the field as soon as possible, but that will take care of itself."
NMCC head coach Arlen Pixley praised Kony's poise and decision making through the whole process.
"Kony did a tremendous job handling the whole situation. With the demographics of where we are located, he had schools such as Auburn, Michigan, Georgia Tech, Nebraska and others coming hard after him. He took it all in stride and realized Mizzou was the best fit for him."
Kony relayed to me that his decision to go to Missouri was made easy because of the people associated with Mizzou.
I also asked him what was next on the agenda with signing day over?
" Getting G'Darius Stevenson up there to Mizzou with me. I am gonna work on him becoming a Tiger, too."
