"It's Good To Officially Be A Tiger"

Tiger cornerback signee Xavier Smith talks signing day and Tiger recruiting class

2010 DB Xavier Smith 5'11" 180 4.46 forty, 39" vertical, 4.19 shuttle, from Edmond (OK) North, signed his Letter of Intent to attend Missouri on Wednesday, then took time to visit with ShowMeMizzou.

Smith talked about his signing day experience.  "It went really good.  We had a good turn out, support from the school.  It feels good to officially be a Tiger!"

His family was present at his signing and are very proud of him.  Xavier said, "Mom shed a couple of tears. But, she was happy!"

He talked about Missouri's 2010 recruiting class.  "I think we ended up with a really good class......... I know Mizzou, not only do they just look at you for talent, but they also do a pretty good job of judging you as far as character goes, as well."

Xavier Smith has become friends with fellow 2010 Missouri recruit E.J. Gaines, and the two of them are planning to be roommates at Missouri.  I asked him if he was faster than E.J..  Xavier replied, "I think me and E.J. have actually went back and forth.  We saw each other at a couple of camps this year.  One day, I hit a 4.49 and he hit like a 4.48, then we went to Mizzou camp, and I hit a 4.46 and he had like a 4.5 flat."

Xavier plans to arrive on campus in June, and is also planning to attend Mizzou's spring game.
