LB Rob Hankins Talks Tigers

Dallas (TX) linebacker talks to about Missouri offer

2011 LB Rob Hankins  6'1" 219  4.5  Dallas (TX) Parish Episcopal School is one of the top LB prospects in the country.  The 16 year-old benches over 400 pounds in the weight room, reports a 34" vertical, and makes plays from sideline to sideline on the football field.  He currently holds numerous scholarship offers, including one from the Missouri Tigers.

ShowMeMizzou spoke with Rob Hankins and his father, Rob Sr., who said of the younger Hankins that, "He's interested in taking a look at Missouri.  We saw them play against Arkansas in the Cotton Bowl.  But, he's never been to Columbia."

Hankins is planning a number of unofficial visits to schools of interest this spring, including California and Arizona.  He also plans to visit Missouri.  Hankins informed me that he has the official scholarship offer from Missouri, and all the other official offers he has received, individually framed and hanging on the wall of his room.  He said that he did this because he considers it a great honor to receive these offers, and that he's very proud to have been so honored.

"With Mizzou, just like all the other schools, I'm very proud that they want me to be a player for them.  I think that makes a statement," said Hankins, "and I have a lot of pride in that."

He wants to take his time and sort through the offers and visit as many schools as possible before beginning to narrow down his list.

Speaking of the offer from Missouri, Hankins said, "Well, I'm excited about it.  They have a very good reputation.............. I want to get to see (Missouri) soon, and get to know (the coaches) and find out what they're all about.............. I want to get on campus, and meet some students, meet some players, talk with the coaches, and really learn all about the University.  Because, I'm really excited about them.  I'm hoping that they're going to be a good fit for me."

Hankins hopes to be able to speak with the Missouri coaching staff soon, and plans to schedule an unofficial visit to Missouri for sometime this spring.  It seems that he's pretty mature for his age, and it appears that he's going to be very thorough with regard to examining his options, and that he plans to take all the time that's available to him before making a decision.
