Ray Talks About Commitment to Missouri

Bishop Miege Defensive End talks about his decision to become a Tiger

The newest Tiger 2011 commit, DE Shane Ray 6'4" 225lbs 4.6 forty, spoke with ShowMeMizzou.com about his commitment on his way home from his unofficial visit. The talented defender from Bishop Miege high school in Kansas City (KS) said the decision was an easy one.

" When I was there everything just felt right. I liked everything about, the coaches, the players, the school." said Ray. "I was talking to Marcus Lucas, who is comes from Kansas City and has a similar background to me, and he said the same things that I heard Jeremy Maclin say, that they could have went anywhere to school, but you won't find anything better at any other school then Missouri. It is home. It has everything you could want. You don't need to go anyplace else."

Ray was happy to make his commitment to the Tigers, a school and team his father also played at.

" I had talked things over with my Mom for a long time before I went up there and knew what I was going to do.I committed at halftime of the basketball game. It felt good and like the right thing to do. It just felt right. Everyone is like a family there and it just felt like home."

He picked Missouri over offers from Kansas and Wisconsin, and was also getting recruiting interest from multiple other schools.

Shane Ray become the Tigers 4th known high school commitment for the 2011 season.
