When my phone rang I picked it up and heard a youngman yell into the phone, "JP...I'm a Tiger!"It was Brandon Hannah and he could not contain his excitment in giving me the news that he had just committed to the Missouri Tigers.
"I just got off the phone with Coach Pinkel."said Hannah." I committed to Missouri and spoke to both Coach Pinkel and Coach Ford.Coach Pinkel was very excited that I will be a Tiger. It's a great day!"
Brandon Hannah 6'3"240lbs WR had suffered a serious knee injury in camp last fall, and has been rehabbing it after surgury. He just got very good news from his doctor giving him clearance to run and telling him that he will fully recover.
"My doctor told me that this is the fastest he has ever seen anyone recover from an injury like this. He gave me the clearance to start running next week and said I will be able to participate in football this summer."
Hannah has been a fan of the Tigers for a long time and vice versa. I first saw Brandon at a Mizzou one day camp when he was a freshman in high school.
Since then he has suffered a couple of injuries, won a state basketball championship, and now gets to live out his dream of becoming a Missouri Tiger
"I grew up a Tiger fan and I feel blessed to be able to have the opportunity to play football at Missouri and be a Tiger.I asked Brandon regarding what position he would play with the Tigers.
"I will play either Wideout or Tight End on offense. On defense, I am not sure where I might play if I played there."
I asked Brandon if he was open to playing on defense and if it was a possiblity?
"I am open to playing wherever I can help the team. I have played defense before. I have played Linebacker and Defensive End before."
He had also been being recruited by Iowa, Kansas, Michigan and Nebraska.
Brandon Hannah becomes the Tigers 5th high school commitment for 2011 and the 6th commit for that class overall.
