"Tigers Are In My Top 3"

Missouri Tigers to get a spring game visit from talented prospect

The Missouri Tigers will be holding their annual spring Black and Gold game on April 17th and they continue to have some impressive visitors who plan on attending the game.

The latest to state that they will be at the spring game in almost two weeks is Houston (TX) St. Pius X Linebacker, Kellen Jones 6'1" 210lbs 4.6 forty, who spoke with ShowMeMizzou.com recently.

The explosive All-State and All District defender picked up and offer from the Tigers a couple of weeks ago and already has the Tigers high on his list of schools.

" I am excited about the Missouri offer." said Jones. "I was real happy to get it.  I will be there on April 17th for their spring game."

Jones talked about the Tigers recent success and how he is familiar with former Tiger QB Chase Daniel, and another Tiger who plays his position who is headed to the NFL this year.

" I know all about Sean Weatherspoon. He is a great player. I also followed Chase Daniel and the success he had at Missouri. I have followed the Tigers and I know that they have been one of the the most successful program in the country as of late. So it's an honor to get an offer from them. Missouri is in my top three schools."

Missouri isn't the only school who has recognized Jones' talents on the football field. Stanford was his most recent offer on Monday to go along with offers from Arkansas,Colorado, Kansas State, Arizona and Purdue.

He has been busy this spring checking out a few of those schools and will make another stop along the way on his Missouri visit.

" I visited Oklahoma State and Colorado over spring break. I also went to LSU's spring game. I plan on going to Missouri's spring game on that Saturday and then head to Arkansas for their junior day on Sunday the 18th. I also want to try and make a visit out to Stanford sometime and Texas Tech has told me that they plan on offering me soon. So I may try and visit there."

Kellen Jones is a true student athlete who plans on getting a double major in mathematics and engineering.

As a player he is a versatile defender who played DE until last year, but sees himself as being able to play middle or outside linebacker.

" With the defense we play I line up sometimes in the middle and also outside. I am very good at rushing the passer, but I also pride myself on being able to stop the run as well. I have a nose for the ball and I use my hands well to shed blocks and get to ball-carriers and quarterbacks."

Kellen is looking for a school he can get a good education in his desired major and also play for a good football program.

"My top three schools right now are Missouri, Arkansas and Stanford." Jones said. "Missouri and Arkansas are great in both football and academics.I like Stanford because of how well known there are with their academics."

We will continue to follow Kellen Jones' recruitment.
