"I Loved Everything About It"

Texas Athlete talks about his visit to Missouri for the Black and Gold game

The Missouri Tigers hosted about 100-150 prospects for their annual Black and Gold game which warps up spring practice for the football team.

Brazsowood (TX) LB/S Clarence Green 6'0" 195lbs 4.47 was among those visitors and talked to ShowMeMizzou.com about his trip to the Zou and his thoughts on where Missouri stood in his recruitment.

"I loved everything about it, yes sir!", exclaimed Green in a phone conversation while on his way back to Texas. "I really had a great time. Everything up there was beautiful. The school, the stadium, the weather. I felt like I really connected with the coaches and players. The coaches really seem like they care about you as a person, and the players all accepted me like I was a teammate already. There were all just so nice and down to earth.I cannot wait to tell my parents all about it. They are excited from what I told them already."

Green also came away inpressed with what he saw on the field.

"The defensive scheme is the same type they run at my high school. So I could really see myself playing here. The defense was very fast and physical. I really liked that. Tow of their linebackers, Zaviar Gooden and Andrew (Gachkar) looked very fast and really good.I could see myself in those roles."

Clarence managed to strike up some friendships while on his visit, including a Missouri commit for the 2011 class.

"I met Brandon Hannah, who told me he had already committed, and one of his teammates,Brandon Minor. We three hung out most of the time and watched the game together. Brandon (Hannah) is a great guy. He really talked up the Tigers. The other Brandon is a good guy ,too. He was only a freshman. Man, he was big for his age, Both of them were good sized guys. We had a lot of fun watching the game and talking."

Green alos told me about finding out more about the strenght and conditioning program and business school which he wants to major in. Only one thing was missing from his visit. His parents.

"My Mom and sister had to go to a funeral, so my family could not make it. I thought I might have to miss it, but my Uncle was nice enough to bring me up here. I am so glad that I didn't miss this. It was great. Now I just need to bring my parents back up here and show them how grea it is and have them see what I did."

I asked Clarence if a visit and approval from his parents might mean a commit.

"Yes,sir. I will be back up here this summer or as soon as we can. I know I am still planning on taking one last look at Baylor, Texas A&M and probably Tulsa. My Mom wants me to check everything out and make sure and we discussed making those trips before committing. However, Missouri has the best of everything I have seen so far from all the schools I have visited. I really like Coach Steckel, he keeps everything real, and after being to Missouri and meeting coaches, players, recruits and former players like Sean Weatherspoon and Danario Alexander, who are from Texas, I think I can fit in nicely there."

Green told me that he plans to make a summer commitment as soon as possible and before the start of his senior year.
