2011 Tiger commit talks about his recent visit to the Black and Gold game

"Mizzou never really seems to disappoint at the Spring Game," said 2011 commit, DE Shane Ray  6'4  230  4.6  Bishop Miege (KS).  "I really enjoyed it.  I saw some new guys coming up.  The new QB, he looked pretty good.  The defense looked really good.  I just had fun.  It was a great day!"

Shane Ray was seen at the Spring Game hanging out with 2011 commit QB Corbin Berkstresser.  He said that he's become friends with the Tigers' QB commit, and has also developed friendships with 2011 WR commit Wesley Leftwich and 2010 signees DT Lucas Vincent and WR Marcus Lucas.

Shane talked about meeting some former Tiger players, as well.

"It was really cool!  I really like it," said the sixteen year-old Ray.  "Because a lot of people don't get to talk to guys like that.  Talking to guys like Jeremy Maclin, or Chase Daniel, or 'Spoon.  For me to be able to just go and be around them, and they talk to me.  It's a really nice feeling, and they always have good advice.  Guys like 'Spoon and Danario, they always have good things to say.  Jeremy Maclin, he's a realy good guy.  I look at them as being like big brothers.  Now, I'm just like part of the family.  I really enjoyed that!"

Ray talked about how he loved the way that the Tigers' defensive ends get after the QB.

"Actually, I got a chance to talk to Aldon (Smith) after the game," said Ray.  "I like how they get after the ball.  When I come up there, that's just exactly what I plan on doing............... I pay a lot of attention to Aldon."

Ray said that he's been working in the weight room, trying to get bigger and stronger.  He wants to play his senior year at 240 pounds.  He plans to arrive at Missouri in June, 2011.
