Smothers Still Weighing Options

Arkansas lineman updates us on the latest with his recruitment and Mizzou

The Missouri Tigers have targeted one of the more heavily recruited players in Arkansas with double digit offers.

Springdale (AR) OL Mitch Smothers has also been one of the busiest players in the country as far trying to check out schools that he has interest in with unofficial visits. Mitch, who holds an offer from the Tigers among the rest, made an unofficial to Missouri back in February and recently updated us regarding his recruitment and Mizzou.

"I like Missouri. I still have a lot of interest in the Tigers. They are high on my list"said Smothers." I really like the Missouri coaches and the school and everything up there I saw on my visit. I also like how they run a spread offense which is  what we run here at Springdale. The Tigers are recruiting me as a guard or center along their line."

Despite the offers and unofficial visits to Missouri and schools such as Oklahoma,Arkansas,Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, Kansas, Tulsa and others, he isn't ready to narrow things down just yet.

"I am just still evaluating all the schools and my options and will wait and see what other schools may be interested. Basically I am interested in any school that is interested in me. I want to see what they all have to offer and who is the best fit. I am not in a hurry to commit."

Now with the evaluation period going on , schools are coming in to make sure Smothers knows they are interested.

"Kansas was here today. Oklahoma was here yesterday. The Tiger coaches said they would be coming down soon to my school. We'll see what happens."
