Rising DT Has Mizzou Interest

Sleeper defensive tackle is on the rise and talks Missouri interest

After being named to the 2010 USAAB All-Combine 2nd Team as a defensive tackle, 2011 DT James Twins 6'3" 290 5.17 Clinton (OK) was named Defensive Line MVP at the Nike Football Training Camp held at TCU in April.

ShowMeMizzou caught up with Clinton Head Coach Mike Lee, and he talked about his big lineman.

"He runs pretty well," said Coach Lee, of his big lineman. "He has really low body fat for a big man. He's a big strong kid. He needs to get a little more flexible, but he has good feet for a big man.............. He's starting to mature as a person, so he's taking care of business much better than when he was young. He's got a good work ethic."

James Twins self reported a vertical jump of 22", and benched 28 reps at 185 pounds at the combine. He also reported a maximum bench press of 355 pounds. He's being recruited by Arizona, Louisville, Missouri, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, and UCLA, but doesn't yet have any offers. He told me Oklahoma State is his current favorite, followed by Texas Tech and Arizona, but that the school that offers him first would immediately become his favorite. He said that he was "pretty excited" to have begun hearing from Missouri, and wants to "check them out".

It appears that Twins has really improved since last year, and his recruitment is just getting started. He's planning to camp at Oklahoma State, and wants to visit some other schools, as well.

"I'm stronger than I've ever been," said Twins. "I'm a lot better than I was last year."
