Recently, ShowMeMizzou spoke with 2011 DE Toby Jackson 6'5" 255 4.6 Corsicana (TX) Navarro JC about his recruitment. Jackson reports holding offers from Alabama, Arkansas, Baylor, Central Florida, Georgia, Miami, Mississippi, Missouri, Oklahoma State, and South Florida.
Jackson's planning to graduate from Navarro in December, and would arrive in January with three years to play two. He reports a 33" vertical jump, and a personal best of 375 pounds in the bench press. He talked about what kind of a player he is.
"I think I've got a balanced game," said Jackson, "but I think my main specialty is getting to the quarterback."
"I have no favorites right now," replied Jackson, when asked about his list of favorites. "I'm just pretty open-minded about everybody. I'm just taking my time with it. I have interest in every school that has offered me. Everyone's equal right now."
Jackson, who is originally from Georgia, has already visited Alabama, and plans to take four more visits during the season. He doesn't have any visits scheduled at present. He said that he'd like to make a decision before the end of the season. He talked about his criteria for choosing a school.
"I'm just mainly looking at the schools," said Jackson, "and just listening to the coaches, and seeing how our relationships (develop). I'm trying to see how they're going to use me as a player, and how that's going to help me get to the next level. I'm trying to see which school will give me the best way to get to the NFL."
He said that a team's depth chart, or geographic location will not be much of a factor in his decision.
"I look at the depth chart, also," said Jackson. "But, I feel like any school I go to, I can earn a starting spot. So, I'm really not too (concerned) about the competition or the depth chart."
