Jones Has "Great" Visit

Tiger defensive target from Texas fills us in about Missouri visit

Houston (TX) St. Pius X LB Kellen Jones 6'1" 210lbs contacted ShowMeMizzou.com shortly after he finished his unofficial visit to Missouri on Friday.

Jones was excited about the visit and expressed his happiness about how things went on the visit.

"It was great." said Jones. "Everything was just great. I don't think it could have been any better. I really got a good overview of the program, academics and coaches on my trip."

Kellen talked about how the coaches and facilities really stood out to him.

" I got to meet Coach Pinkel. He is a very nice man. You can tell he is a real father figure, and that is nice to have being away from home. Coach Steckel and Coach Ivey were impressive also. You could tell Coach Ivey was the strength coach. He really looks the part. I like  the workouts and how they train their players. The training area and complex was really good."

"My parents really liked everything they saw as well. They feel good about Missouri and were impressed with it all."

Jones looked at the academic side of things on campus and checked out the team camp currently going on at Missouri for high school players.

Was the visit enough to make him commit?

"It was a good visit. I will have to really think about things and talk things over with my parents. We are going to stay over so we can check out the town. There is a lot to like and I can see myself living here and playing here for four years. So there is a lot to think about."

Kellen has multiple offers from schools such as Michigan, Arkansas, Arizona, Illinois, Virginia, Houston and others. He said he likes the situation at Missouri but will take a few more visits as of right now.

" I know the Tigers only have one spot open at LB. My plan has always been to make a decision before my senior season and I will stick to that. It will just depend on how soon. I do want to visit Michigan and probably Arkansas along with maybe Arizona and Purdue before I decide. Me and my parents will discuss everything tonight. There is a lot to think about."
