Kansas City Camp Report

Tigers wrap one day camps with talented group of kids in Kansas City

The Missouri Tigers annual Kansas City one-day camp held at William Jewell in Liberty (MO) might have had the best overall talent top to bottom in each class of the three one day camps held in the past week.

A few notable observers were on hand including 2011 QB commit Corbin Berkstresser Lee' Summit , 2011 DE Shane Ray Bishop Miege and 2012 offer Evan Boehm Lee's Summit West, who recently picked up an Oklahoma offer after attending OU's camp.

(l-r)Thomas, Ray, Berkstresser and Boehm.

Ray and Berkstresser spent a good amount of time talking with friends Boehm, Darrian Miller, Bernard Thomas and Blue Springs WR Jordan Nubine.

Jordan Nubine

I will have a report on the underclassmen at the camp, but a few notable prospects there besides Boehm and Park Hill DT Ondre Pipkins in 2012 Liberty DT Kurt Petroll 6'2" 281, 2012 Rockhurst LB Michael Rose 6'1"210 and 2012 RB Morgan Steward 5'11" 180 Staley.

Here is a rundown of the top 2011 prospects at camp.

Blue Springs RB Darrian Miller and CB Bernard Thomas were probably the top prospects at the camp with each having multiple D1 offers. Teammate Jordan Nubine 6'3" 200 was also at camp and showed his receiving skills which include glue like hands.

Conrrad Nicholls

Raytown DE Conrrad Nicholls 6'5" 230 stood out among the 2011 defensive lineman. Nicholls performed well enough in drills that he hopes a Missouri offer could be coming sometime in the future. Nicholls reported being recruited by Missouri as well as BYU, Kansas, Kansas State and Nebraska.

Staley LB/S prospect Vidal Nelson 6'1" 200 4.5 forty 34" vertical thought he could have done better then he did at camp but was pleased overall with his experience. Nelson updated us about an offer from Wyoming and one possibly coming from Minnesota soon.

Nelson wasn't the only linebacker type who caught our attention. Park Hill LB DeAris Flint 6'2" 205 Park Hill showed very good agility, quickness and athleticism. Flint sports a 34" vertical jump.

Blue Valley LB Ian Allen 6'2" 195 was an honorable mention All-State performer as a junior with well over 100 tackles, and he surprised with his speed and overall athleticism. Allen runs a 4.59 forty yard dash.

2011 Liberty offensive linemen Justin Fitzwater 6'3" 290 and Kyle Starke 6'4" 305 led the way among a nice group of OL prospects on the day along with Lee's Summit West's Drew Padget 6'4' 240.

Raytown South CB Marquise Cushon 5'8" 175 lacks some in size but not in explosiveness. A top flight triple and long jumper in track, Cushon showed his athleticism and skills in drills.

The most intriguing player from outside of Missouri to attend might have been Coppell (TX) offensive lineman Oni Omoile 6'3" 266. Oni reported a 4.8 forty and 36" vertical jump. While his coach says he plays right tackle on offense, he looked like a possible defensive tackle to me. Good size, quickness off the snap and agile.

Woodlands (TX) DE/TE Michael Cooper made the trip up and performed well. Cooper got some looks at LB at camp. Cooper is a good looking athlete that looks like he could play several positions. He already has offers from Wyoming, UNLV,Rice and others.

Isaac Lintz

Martin Looney

Several players from West Des Moines (IA) Valley came for the camp. RB/DB prospects Isaac Lintz  6'0"180 and Martin Looney 6'1" 182 were among the top players on the day. Lintz sports a forty time in the upper 4.5's and Looney has  a 37" vertical jump. Both excelled in agility drills and showed good ball skills in offensive and defensive drills.

Killeen (TX) Ellison ATH Lynn Grady 6'0"195 stood out along with the Iowa kids in most drills. Grady reported a 4.6 forty time and 34.6" vertical. Grady could play multiple positions on offense and defense.

Broken Arrow (OK) had a player at the St. Louis camp and DT Nick Hall 6'4" 245 represented BA at the Kansas City camp. Hall was among the top campers on the day at the defensive line position. Good size and quickness.

Also making the trip from Oklahoma were Booker T Washington  teammates WR Dante Barnett 6'1" 175 and OL Dillon O'Carroll 6'2" 275. Barnett is a smooth looking receiver and O'Carroll, who can play offense of defensive line looks like he could have a future at center.
