"It was good," said McGovern. "That was my second year (camping at Missouri). It was good."
McGovern registered a 28" vertical jump at the camp, and reports personal bests of 325 pound bench press, 515 pound squat, and 320 pounds in the power clean. He's bench pressed 225 pounds as many as 15 times.
McGovern has wrestled for his school team, and will play basketball during his senior year. He plays both offensive and defensive tackle for his school's football team, but Missouri is recruiting him to play center. He spent part of his time at the Missouri camp snapping the ball. He talked about that experience.
"I thought it was pretty easy," said McGovern of snapping the ball. "I thought I did pretty well."
McGovern currently holds offers from North Dakota and North Dakota State, and is being recruited by, and will be camping at Colorado, Minnesota, Brown, Dartmouth, Harvard, and Colorado State. He expects to receive some more offers, and believes that Missouri is one of the schools that may offer him soon. He talked about his interest level in Missouri.
"I really like Missouri," said McGovern. "I like the coaches. It's definitely one of my top choices. I have to see how the other camps go."
He then went on to say that Missouri is in his top two or three schools.
ShowMeMizzou will continue to follow this prospect's recruitment. It appears he may soon receive an offer from the Tigers.
