Last December, Park Hill football received an early Christmas present when 2012 DT Ondre Pipkins 6'4" 322 5.0 moved from Rochester Hills, Michigan to Kansas City. ShowMeMizzou got our first look at Pipkins at last week's Missouri one day camp held in Liberty, and came away ultra impressed. In the interim, we've discussed placing Pipkins in our revised top five of in-state players for 2012.
Apparently, the Missouri coaching staff was also very impressed with the big lineman, as Pipkins informs us that he has received a verbal offer from the Tigers. It's his first offer, and as a result, Missouri is currently on top for this uber-talented player.
The Missouri one-day camp was Pipkin's second camp experience. A month earlier, he had been selected as defensive line MVP at the National Underclassmen Camp. He talked about his experience at Missouri's camp.
"I loved the camp," said Pipkins. "I really did. I thought the learning experience was overall just great, and the environment was just all positive. They taught me a lot of things. Things I could work on, the footwork. I loved the getting off the ball drills, and breaking off the ball, and stuff like that. I thought it was just great! I loved it!"
Pipkins, who reported a 25" vertical jump, will play offensive tackle and on the defensive line for Park Hill this year, and he's planning to visit the Missouri campus a little later this summer. He expressed an interest in studying agricultural sciences in college, and indicated that he is a good student, and that education is very important to him. He's also very interested in playing football.
He talked about wanting to get to know Coach Kuligowski, whom he had heard about from a coach in Michigan, and said that he'll be staying in touch with the Missouri coaches. ShowMeMizzou will continue to follow his recruitment.
