Is A Tiger Offer In His Future?

Offensive lineman making the rounds of colleges shares his thoughts on Mizzou

After camping for the second straight year at Missouri in early June, 2011 OL Connor McGovern 6'4" 275 5.12 Fargo (ND) Shanley has been busy making the rounds by attending camps at Colorado, Minnesota, North Dakota State, and Ivy League schools, Harvard, Dartmouth, and Brown. He's also planning to attend a camp at North Dakota a little later.

McGovern said that he's enjoying the camps, and that he likes all the schools he visited. He said that every school where he's camped has expressed an interest in him, and that he's anticipating additional offers soon. He currently holds offers from North Dakota and North Dakota State.

He's stayed in touch with the coaches at the various schools, including Missouri's Josh Henson.

McGovern, who plays basketball, and has also wrestled, reports a 28" vertical jump, and personal bests of 325 pound bench press, 515 pound squat, and 320 pounds in the power clean. He's also a very good student.

McGovern hopes to conclude his recruitment this summer, but is waiting to see which schools will come through with offers. Regarding a possible Missouri offer, McGovern is "hopeful". He said that he doesn't want to say that he will commit to Missouri when that offer comes, but he said that it's "looking pretty promising" for Missouri.

"I definitely like the school (Missouri), and I like the coaches," said McGovern. "It's definitely promising (for Missouri) if they give me an offer."
