Recently, ShowMeMizzou caught up with Missouri commit 2011 DB Cortland Browning 6'1" 197 4.4 Tyler (TX) Lee during what has been a busy summer for the ultra-talented student-athlete. Browning reaffirmed his solid verbal commitment to Missouri, despite his having been pursued aggressively by several other schools, including TCU, Texas A&M, and Arkansas, among others.
Browning has been working out all summer, including weight training designed specifically to improve his speed and explosiveness. He's also been receiving individual instruction from a friend who is a current NFL player. Those workouts are directed at improving his fundamental techniques, with respect to pass coverage and tackling.
Browning's attended camps at TCU and Texas A&M this summer. He went to those camps partly as a learning experience, and also to some extent, to simply satisfy a curiosity. He's passed on other camping opportunities. He said that the coaches from those schools have been talking to his father.
He laughed when he said that he was just "listening" to those other schools.
"I'm not even really listening to them," said Browning. "I just look like I'm listening. I know I'm going to Missouri, unless the world comes to an end."
"My whole family is in favor of me (attending Missouri)," said Browning. "They just want to see what's out there, and see these other places."
Browning is looking forward to taking his official visit to Missouri this fall.
