2012 Lineman Has Eye On Tigers

One of top line prospects of the class of 2012 talks about recent Missouri visit

Recently, 2012 OL Evan Boehm 6'4" 290 Lee's Summit (MO) West spent an afternoon in Columbia with Missouri offensive line coach Josh Henson. Afterwards, Boehm talked with ShowMeMizzou about that visit, and updated us on his current recruiting status.

"I called him (Henson) up yesterday, and told him I was coming down," said Boehm. "So, I went there, and we spent some one on one time watching some game film, and talking, and just getting to know each other. It was a really good experience. He was teaching me some things, and just kind of what their offensive linemen go through on a day to day basis. It was a blast!"

Boehm talked about how his offensive line coach at Lee's Summit West, Chris Barrows, had played at Missouri. He said that some of the things that Missouri does is similar to what they do at Lee's Summit West.

"It was a lot of fun sitting there with Coach Henson," said Boehm. "It felt real good to be on the same page with Coach Henson. He's very intelligent. He knows what he's talking about."

Boehm reports verbal offers from Oklahoma, Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa, and Missouri.

"I'm very fortunate to have all these colleges that have their eye on me," said Boehm. "Not a lot of kids have this. This has always been my dream."

Boehm named a top three of Missouri, Nebraska, and Oklahoma, and talked about his interest in Missouri.

"Missouri's always been in my eye," stated Boehm. "I don't know who's going to be there at the end, but (Missouri's) for sure going to be one of my tops. I'm a Missouri boy. I've grown up in Missouri. They're going to be one of my tops."

Although Boehm plays tackle for Lee's Summit West, he projects as a center/guard type in college. He said that he'd like to return to Columbia for another visit sometime soon.
