Defensive Tackle Planning Mizzou Visit

Rising defensive line prospect breaks down recruitment and talks Tigers

Missouri would maybe like to add another DT to this 2011 recruiting class, and one player who showed up recently on the Tigers radar is 2011 DT Ryan Smith 6'1" 310 4.95 forty Lexington(KY)Henry Clay HS.

Smith, who is an excellent student, holds an offer from Navy, and has been receiving interest from Illinois, Kentucky, Louisville, LSU, and Missouri.

He's already visited Illinois, LSU, Kentucky, Louisville, and Ohio State, and is planning to visit Missouri later this summer.

Smith reports a vertical jump of 29", and a personal best in the bench press of 355 lbs., and a personal best in the squat of 655 lbs.

Missouri projects Smith at the nose tackle position, and have indicated to him that they consider him to be a potential "impact player in the Big 12". He cites his overall quickness, the use of his hands, and his lower body strength as his biggest assets on the field.

Smith's waiting to see how many D-1 offers he will receive before he begins to narrow down his list of suitors. We'll continue to report on Ryan Smith's recruitment by the Missouri Tigers.
