One of the top offensive guard prospects in the state of Alabama is Luke Lawrence. Recently communicated with Lawrence to find out his thoughts on the U.S. Naval Academy. Look inside to find out all the details. How often do you hear from Navy?
Luke Lawrence: Coach Jones came by the school and talked to me during spring training. We have spoken by phone several times.

GM: What are some of the things you like about Navy?
LL: Since coach Niumatalolo has taken over, Navy has been very successful. Also, I know i would get a great education there.

GM: What do you feel makes you a great player?
LL: I feel that I am a physical player with quick feet. I can play all 3 OL positions.

GM: What position are you being recruited to play at Navy?
LL: Interior OL - Guard or Center.

GM: What were some of your stats/awards/recognition from your junior season?
LL: I have been a starter since my sophomore year. As a junior, I graded the highest on OL. I recently was awarded MVP OL at a Scout/Badger Sports Combine. I Bench 350 and squat 465.

GM: Have you visited Navy? If yes, how did it go? If no, are you planning a visit a game this fall?
LL: I Have not made a visit yet but would like to attend a game this fall.

GM: What are your favorite schools right now? Which have offered you?
LL: I really don't have any favorites right now. I have attended a lot of camps the last 3 weeks and plan to attend 3 more in July. Thus far, I have received offers from Navy, Murray State, and Southeastern Louisiana.

I feel I have done well at all the camps this summer and have won the majority of my one-on-one matchups.

Camps attended: Tennessee, Mississippi State, Georgia, Wake Forest, Wofford, Clemson, South Alabama, and Alabama. I plan to attend: UAB, Auburn, and Jacksonville State in the next few weeks. Top Stories
