Signee Spotlight: Bradley Bostick
"It was mid-January when I took my official visit," Bradley Bostick said. "The visit went great. The academy offers prestigious academics. I could really feel the brotherhood within the team. The players and the coaches are like one huge family. I felt like it was where I was supposed to be."
The Navy roster already includes a strong Birmingham-area influence. Shawn Lynch, Ryan Williams-Jenkins and Carrington Lewis all played at Pelham, while Reuben Carson is a Hoover alum. This year recruits, Daniel Bostick, Ben Tamburello, and Bradley Bostick, also hail from the the largest city in Alabama.
"Keith Jones was my recruiter," Bostick said. "They like me at A-back and at kick return. I feel like I have game-changing speed. What I lack in size I make up for in speed. If the defense gives me a step, I'll take it and make it a foot race to the end zone. And I think I'll win a lot of those.
"I'm going in [the Academy] directly this summer. I think the date is June 28th. Earning playing time is my goal, but mainly I want to learn the offense. I know it's rare to come in and play right away, but I'm planning on working hard and hopefully get some time in on kick returns."
Bostick chose the Naval Academy over scholarship offers from Air Force and Columbia. Bostick and his mother drove from Alabama to Landover, Maryland in December to see Navy's win against Army at FedEx Field.
Bostick was named First Team All-Over-the-Mountain for the Birmingham area, and All-Shelby County as a senior at Oak Mountain High School. He wore jersey No. 5 for the Eagles and was coached by Jeff Harris. Follow @GoMids
