Myles Davenport (6-2, 225) is a big, active inside linebacker from Terry Sanford high school. The North Carolina native recorded a team high 149 tackles his senior year. Linebacker Winn Howard (6-2, 210) from Palmer Ridge, Colorado was named to the 2012 Denver Post/ Max Preps First Team All-State Team as a linebacker. Howard posted 142 tackles, 4½ sacks and forced a fumble. On offense he ran for 942 yards and scored eight touchdowns.
Brandon Jones (6-4, 205) is a fast linebacker from Keller, Texas. The athletic Jones earned All-District honors. He likely projects to raider linebacker or SAM safety in the Navy defensive system.
Colton Jumper is a 6-2, 218 pound linebacker from Baylor School in Tennessee. Jumper is a two time All-State selection who made 131 tackles, had 23 tackles for loss, 8 sacks, 2 interceptions, 2 fumble recoveries and 1 blocked field goal last year. Jumper ran a 4.6 forty-yard dash at a Tennessee Volunteer Junior combine. He chose Navy over Air Force, University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, Furman, Wofford and Lehigh.
On the west coast two time All-County linebacker Tony Mack (6-1, 220) from Moorpark high school in California committed to Navy. Mack was the team captain and leader of the defense. The Ventura County Coaches Association's all-county large schools team voted Tony its 2012 Linebacker of the Year.
Amos Mason is a 6-1, 220 pound player from Brentwood Academy in Tennessee. Mason was a two-way lineman who made 56 tackles and nine tackles for losses. He projects to inside linebacker for the Mids. Mason recently won his third straight state wrestling championship. Amos set the Tennessee state record for the most consecutive wrestling wins.
Mike Kelly (6-1, 210) from Lakota West high school in Ohio is an active but undersized linebacker. Kelly earned all-conference honors. He chose the Mids over offers from Army, Yale, Indiana State, Lafayette, Princeton, Brown and Villanova.
Navy landed Kevin McCoy (6-3, 205) from Douglas Byrne high school in North Carolina. McCoy was a late bloomer who didn't start till his senior year at defense end. In 2012 he made 82 tackles and posted 10 quarterback sacks. He project to outside linebacker in the Mids' scheme.
Nate Ozdemir (6-2, 230) is a hard-hitting inside linebacker from West Orange high school in Florida. Ozdemir led his team with 104 tackles. Ozdemir was a district wrestling champion. He is a good friend
of West Orange teammate Winston Chastang who is a fellow Navy commitment.
David Smith (6-2, 215) is a very athletic outside linebacker from Warwick high school in Virginia. His senior season he made 146 tackles, posted five sacks and forced six fumbles. Smith scored five offensive touchdowns.
Smith chose the Midshipmen over offers from Temple, Marshall, Richmond, William & Mary, Howard, Bucknell, Old Dominion, James Madison and Hampton.
William Tuider is another fast, undersized outside linebacker from Mountain View high school in Lawrenceville, Georgia. Tuider (6-2, 205) had 65 tackles with six tackles for losses and three interceptions last season. He had offers from Cincinnati, Ohio, Buffalo, Utah, Florida International and the Ivy league. Jalen Wade is a six-foot, 208 pound linebacker from Independence high school in Tennessee. Wade recorded 63 tackles, had four tackles for a loss and made 3 ½ sacks his senior year.
Troy Washington (6-3, 205) is a First team All-North East Region linebacker from Colonial Forge high school in Virginia. Troy is a quick, athletic outside linebacker who maybe fast enough to play Rover as well.
