"At Navy, it's all about the brotherhood. The team is really close and looks out for one another. The location was also a factor. It's close to home. The main thing that stood out was the opportunities that hopefully will come after football. I'm getting set up for life a with a degree from the Naval Academy and they're paying for everything.
"With football, I like that it's a run-first offense like we ran at my high school. The team is winning. They won their bowl game, they won the President's Cup, and they're going to continue to win. Coach Niumatalolo is a cool guy. He's knows what he's doing with the team. I also have a real good relationship with the offensive line coach."
Ukandu, 6-foot-3, 270-pounds, was a four-year starter at Gilman School. He played both left and right tackle and on the defensive line. In his junior and senior season, Ukandu was named first team all-State and all-Baltimore Metro. He'll begin at NAPS in the summer.
