Navy falls to Notre Dame, 49-39

Navy gained 454 yards of total offense but fell to No. 6 Notre Dame, 49-39, after pulling to within three late in the game. The Mids' Noah Copeland ran for 138 yards on 16 carries. Quarterback Keenan Reynolds passed for 118 yards, two touchdowns and an interception.

Navy narrowed the Irish lead to 42-39 with 4:18 to go in the game when Reynolds found Chris Swain for a 12-yard scoring reception. Navy then went for two and Reynolds completed a pass Geoffrey Whiteside for two points.

However, Notre Dame quarterback Everett Golson scrambled for an 8-yard scoring run with 1:27 to go to seal the win for the visitors.

Navy falls to 4-5 while the Irish improve to 7-1. The Irish now lead the all-time series 75-12-1 and have won four in a row.
