The 6-foot-2, 275-pound offensive/defensive lineman committed to Navy's Mike Judge on Sunday, December 14th.
"When I saw how hard Navy played Notre Dame, giving 110-percent on every single play until the final whistle, I honestly thought they were going to pull off the win. They came so close. At St. Peter's we talk about how the team is more that just yourself. I saw the Navy guys playing together as one, not shying away from the competition, and I knew I wanted to be a part of that next year."
Tolentino selected Navy over offers from Harvard, Princeton, and Yale.
"(Coach Judge) told me I was a good player who played with a lot of passion and enthusiasm and thought I'd be a great fit at Navy. He said I was the kind of hard-worker they were looking for both on the field and in the classroom."
As a senior at St. Peter's Prep, Tolentino was named the 2014 Hudson County Defensive Player of the Year, first team All-County (Offensive Line and Defensive Line), first team All-State (Offensive Line), first team All-Metro (Offensive Line), and first team All-New Jersey (Offensive Line). He made 55 tackles, three and a half sacks, 11 quarterback hurries, three pass breakups, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. Davis is the son of Luis Tolentino and Marilina Avanz, and has an older sister, Elizabeth Tolentino, and younger brother, Luis Tolentino. After graduation from St. Peter's Prep, he'll start out at NAPS.
