Mids Commit Jeremiah Boyd: Navy takes care of you

Navy picked up a solid commit at the end of July when Newport News, Virginia athlete Jeremiah Boyd announced he would wear the blue and gold. Look inside to find out what makes Boyd a great player and why he picked Navy.

Jeremiah Boyd: Athlete.

GM: What position did Navy recruit you for?
JB: Strong safety.

GM: What is your height/weight and 40 speed?
JB: 6'0", 205 pounds, 4.75 forty.

GM: What are some of the things you feel make you a great player?
JB: Sprinting to the football and having a knack to get around.

GM: Where were you when you committed to Navy?
JB: Just leaving the Navy campus.

GM: Who is your primary recruiter(s) for Navy?
JB: Coach [Dan] O'Brien and coach [Napolean] Sykes.

GM: When did you visit Navy?
JB: I visited Navy and committed because it's close to the water and has nice scenery.

GM: What are some of the things you liked about the Navy campus?
JB: They really like taking care of the body but also push you to your limits. It's a family atmosphere.

GM: What were some of your stats from last season?
JB: Completed 100 of 196 passes for 1,268 yards, 17 TDs and eight interceptions. As a linebacker, I had 31 tackles including eight for losses, two sacks and two forced fumbles.

GM: Did you get any postseason honors like All-District, All-Region, etc.?
JB: Honorable Mention All-Ironclad Conference.

GM: What other schools are you being recruited by?
JB: I  was being recruited by many but heavily by Virginia Tech,Army, Kentucky Christian, Wake Forest, and NC State.

GM: How are you doing in the classroom?
JB: I hold a 3.68 GPA.

GM: Do you play any other sports?
JB: I play basketball and run track.
