Navy, Bama First to Offer Tennessee Linebacker

Barron Huber (6-3, 240, 4.7) has made a name for himself this summer. Huber has attended several camps and has received his first two offers, and he names two favorites among his leaders.

"I have received offers from Alabama and the Naval Academy," said Barron Huber. "I received the offer from the Naval Academy about two weeks ago. Alabama offered me on July 3. They were both written offers. Both of those schools are very tough to compare. Alabama has such rich tradition. With me being from the south, it would be great to go there. My family has a family background with the Naval Academy. They give you a lot of opportunities after college," said Huber.

With Alabama and the Naval Academy as early favorites, Huber is still looking at a few more schools.

"Alabama and the Naval Academy are my top two, right now. I am going to Auburn this weekend and to Arkansas in two weeks. I am also considering Marshall, Vanderbilt, and Baylor. Arkansas has been sending the most mail. They have been consistent for about seven months," said Huber.

Summer has been busy for Huber. He has attended several camps, and was impressed by each.

"I have been to Baylor, Marshall, Vanderbilt, Tennessee, Alabama, and the Naval Academy. They have all been different. I learned something different at each camp. It was good to see the different ways that each team plays. I felt real comfortable at all the camps. I felt extremely comfortable at the Alabama camp," Huber added.

The summer is almost over and fall practice is about to begin.

"We start fall practice the last week of July. I am tired of just working-out and not being able to go out there and practice. I am ready to strap it on."

Huber has great strengths, and knows what he wants to improve before his season begins. "I feel like I have great leadership. My favorite player is David Pollack. He always has his motor running. That is how I am. Just always finishing plays and making the big plays. I would probably like to be quicker before the season starts."

Huber will have a lot to think about before making his decision.

"I want to go where I feel the most comfortable, and where my family feels the most comfortable. They will not pressure me going somewhere. They will play a role. I will not wait that long on my decision. I will probably decide in about two or three months from now," said Huber.

As a junior, Huber recorded 112 tackles, two interceptions, six forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery.
