Sources: quarterback commits to Navy

According to reliable sources the United States Naval Academy picked up a fine commit over the weekend. Starrs Mill (Ga.) quarterback Robby Davis has decided to be a Navy Midshipmen.

Davis camped at Navy in June and was named the Outstanding Quarterback of the camp by the Navy staff.

As a junior at Starrs Mill, Davis rushed for 1,000 yards and passed for 700 more while directing an option offense.

Davis, who ran a 4.5 forty at a combine, also drew offers from Air Force and Wofford and had heavy interest from hometown Georgia Tech.

The Georgia prep star recently told that, "I think the main thing for me is the ability to not only be able to play big division I football but also get a great education while doing it. That's what I like about Navy, they can offer me that. Once I get out of college I'll have my life set and paid for me."

Davis is the first commit for the Navy staff of the 2007 recruiting year. Verbal commits are non-binding. National Signing Day is on February 7, 2007. Top Stories
