Interview: Navy commit Kyle Delahooke

He can boom a punt or drill a long field goal. He also carries a hard hit on defense. He's Kyle Delahooke and he's headed to Navy. recently talked with Navy's newest commit. What did you like about Navy?
Kyle Delahooke: The program is having a lot of success, the coaches know how to coach the players, the school itself (education), discipline, etc, and serving my country while doing all this

GM: Who was the Navy coach that recruited you?
KD: Ken Nuimatalolo.

GM: How did the Navy staff say you'd be utilized at Navy?
KD: Recruited for all 3 (K, P, LB), try and earn my spot right away.

GM: What other schools recruited you?
KD: Cal Berkeley, University of San Diego, Colgate.

GM: What other schools offered you?
KD: None.

GM: What kind of stats did you have as a senior?
KD: Kicking: 65 out of 77 kickoffs were touchbacks, 8 kickoffs through the uprights 49-51 PAT's, 6-10 FG's, misses from 58, 56, 52, and 42; Punting: 36 punts for 1437 yards, long 65, 7 inside 20; Defense: 80 tackles, 9 sacks (DE/LB).

GM: What honors did you get (ie, all-district, etc.)?
KD: 1st Team All-League, 1st Team All-Area, 1st Team All-CIF (Division), 2nd Team Small-School All-State.

GM: What is your 40 time, bench and squat maxes?
KD: 40: 4.9; Bench Max: 225; Squat Max: not sure.

GM: In your opinion, what was the most exciting play you made during your senior season?
KD: My team making it to the CIF Championship for the first time in school history, and winning the Brentwood game in overtime to allow us to go to playoffs.

GM: What do you think about playing someday in the Army-Navy game?
KD: It would be a once in a lifetime experience and it would be an honor. The Lord has allowed me to be in this spot and I am thankful for everything He has given me and hope I can glorify Him at Navy. My favorite verse is Hebrews 12:1. Top Stories
