Star North Carolina QB likes Navy

Kyle Ellis, a three-star prospect has visited the U.S. Naval Academy and likes what he sees.

Kyle Ellis is a big quarterback prospect from Kinston, NC that has attracted the eye of several schools across the region. His team has gotten off to a slow start at 1-2, but Ellis has put up good numbers with 350 yards passing, 100 yards rushing, and 2 passing touchdowns.

He has good quickness for his size. He stands 6-5 and 205 pounds and was timed at 4.7 at the Nike Camp in Chapel Hill on a cool April Morning. He went to several summer camps this summer, and he names many of those schools among his favorites.

"I went to the Nike Camp of course," said Ellis. "I also went to Duke, Wake Forest, Navy, NC State, Virginia, and Appalachian State. I don't have any official offers, but I have been accepted to Navy pending a recommendation from my Congressman. I went up to Navy and spoke with Coach Johnson about how I'd fit in with the team, and I really like it there. They're probably my favorite team along with ECU. My dad went to ECU, and they're in my backyard, so I really like them. I also like Furman, Appalachian State, Duke, and Wake Forest."

Ellis has the frame and quickness to be a standout quarterback on the next level, and he will keep the eye of several recruiters in the region Top Stories
