Navy Football 2007: Slot backs

The slot back position is a key cog in the Navy rushing machine. When Navy fans think about the returning talent at this position a smile is sure to come across their faces. Today takes a look at Navy's 2007 slot backs.

1st Slot Back position

7 * Reggie Campbell (5-6, 168, Sr.)- Campbell starting all 13 games last season, rushing for 706 yards and 5 touchdowns. Campbell, who possesses great speed and mental toughness, should be able to increase those rushing numbers in 2007. Also a deadly receiver, Campbell caught 13 passes for 244 yards including Navy's longest reception of the season for 77 yards.

26 Shun White (5-9, 186, Jr.)- White rushed for 585 yards and 5 touchdowns during his sophomore campaign. His logest run was for 53 yards. Also caught 2 passes.

33 Bobby Doyle (5-11, 194, So.)- Doyle saw limited action in 2006 but picked up 11 yards on 4 carries.

2nd Slot Back position

28 * Zerbin Singleton (5-8, 164, Sr.)- Primarily used in a blocking role, Singleton started 12 games in 2006 and rushed 198 yards in 28 carries. Singleton also snared 4 receptions for the Mids.

29 Greg Shinego (5-9, 182, Jr.)- Shinego had 2 carries for 13 yards last season.

23 Scott Oswald (5-11, 200, So.)- Oswald worked hard during the spring and worked his way into the No. 3 slot back position.
