Navy Announces Football Class of 2011

ANNAPOLIS-- Navy head football coach Paul Johnson released the names of the 2007 Navy football recruits on Wednesday evening as 47 prospects representing 20 states went through induction ceremonies and began plebe summer.

"I think this group has a chance to be pretty good for us down the road," said Johnson. "As always, we emphasized speed and athleticism and I think this class has that."

The state of Georgia produced the most prospects with seven, while North Carolina and Florida have five players each in the incoming class. There are four recruits hailing from Texas and three each from California and Pennsylvania.

Navy football season tickets are currently on sale at the Ricketts Hall Box Office, by calling 1-800-US4-NAVY, or by logging on to the web at Navy's home opener is Sept. 15 against Ball State in a 5 p.m. contest that will be televised nationally by CSTV.
