PASSING OFFENSE
A-
Wow, 236 yards passing by Navy! Maybe Paul Johnson should wear a visor like Steve Spurrier does. Kaipo-Noa Kaheaku-Enhada passed for 217 yards and a touchdown while completing 11 of 16 passes. He did have one interception. Navy even got some razzle dazzle going when Bobby Doyle completed a touchdown pass to quarterback Jarod Bryant.
RUSHING OFFENSE
B+
A little off day rushing for Navy but the Mids made up for it by taking advantage of the passing game. In the end it was the Navy rushing machine that put the Mids in position to win the game with a field goal.
PASSING DEFENSE
D+
Giving up 436 yards passing is nothing to be proud of but it was Ketric Buffin's game saving interception that gave the Mids a shot to win the game in regulation.
RUSHING DEFENSE
B
Not too shabby here. Held the Blue Devils to under 100 yards rushing. Matt Wimsatt finished with 7 tackles for Navy and forced a fumble.
SPECIAL TEAMS
A
In the end special teams won this game for Navy. Joey Bullen made a 44-yard field goal as time expired to give Navy the win. It was one of the few times in NCAA football history that a game was decided on the final play of a game.
COACHING
A
Good teams that are well coached can rally to win games late. After faltering early, Navy outscored Duke 14-0 in the fourth quarter.
OVERALL GRADE
B
Regardless of the level of competition, any game that a team rallys to win in the fourth quarter is a great win. A team will build more from a win like that than a 20-point victory. A great win that keeps Navy bowl hopes alive.
