Army and Navy interested in Texas receiver

A fine wide receiver from the state of Texas is being recruited by Army and Navy. The player, who also plays cornerback, is an outstanding student.

After losing their opener to Crandall, Kennedale has ripped off five straight wins with their high octane attack, averaging over 46 points per game. Kennedale wide receiver/defensive back Jason Tomlinson is a big part of the Wildcats' offense.

"We're doing well," Tomlinson told HR on Wednesday night. "We just have to keep it going."

Through the first six games, Tomlinson has caught 11 passes for 209 yards with two touchdowns. On defense, he's intercepted two passes and returned a fumble 31 yards for another score. But with teammates Rex Harper, Brandon Ross, and Landon Johnson all offensive threats, they all understand their rolls.

"We just pull for one another as a team", he said. "That's the way we've been able to win five straight."

Kennedale is not the easiest place to find on a map and maybe a little tougher for D-I recruiters to notice.

"I've heard from Navy, Army, Missouri and Kansas State, the six-foot-two, 177 lb senior said. "I'm just hoping to get something lined up."

Carrying a 3.8 GPA with an 1140 SAT certainly won't hurt Tomlinson's chances.
