Jarren Brown took a short trip to Annapolis this past weekend to check out the Naval Academy up close and personal. After being thoroughly impressed with what the academy had to offer him, the 5-8, 190 pound RB decided that it was time to bring his commitment to a close. Inside Jarren talks with GoMids.com about his official visit and his decision to join the Midshipmen next fall.

Jarren Brown Profile

Jarren Brown will be staying in state (Maryland) to play for the Naval Academy next fall. Brown was in Annapolis on his official visit this past weekend when he gave his verbal commitment to Coach Niumatalolo and the Navy Coaching Staff. "My parents went with me on my official visit to Navy last weekend," Jarren said. "It went really well. We had some of the football players to take us around; they really took us in well. They were there to answer all of our questions."

Brown gives Navy their 3rd commitment for their 2008 recruiting class. The Charles Herbert Flowers standout chose Navy over James Madison and Syracuse. "I just felt like Navy was the best fit for me," Jarren said. "It's close to home, and I have an opportunity to play early."

One thing that really stood out to Jarren while he was on his visit was having the opportunity to meet the new coaching staff. "They have a real nice coaching staff at Navy," Jarren said. "They had a lot of new people that just got in on Wednesday, and all of them seemed really nice."

Jarren is truly anticipating the opportunity to suit up for Navy next fall. He has already picked out his jersey number, and is ready to get things started. With that being said, Jarren would like to let the Navy fans know how they'd be able to spot him next year. "I'll be wearing number 6 for Navy," Jarren said. "It was a part of my commitment deal."
