The Naval Academy is another program that has been flirting with the 6-1, 190 pound linebacker. To be frank, the feeling appears to be mutual… Just last year, the Lone Star State prospect decided to make a trek up to Annapolis, to check out the Naval Academy.
"I went up to their football camp last summer," Colin. "It was a pretty good camp. I got to talk to their coaches a few times while I was up there. I got to meet with my position's coach, and we went over a few things."
Although Colin thoroughly enjoyed the camp itself, there was one other thing that stood out to the Woodlands High star while he was in Annapolis; the campus tour… "Assistant Coach Danny O'Rourke (Wide Receivers Coach) gave me a tour of the campus," Colin said. "I had a chance to check out the athletic facilities; things like that. The facilities were really nice. They had a lot of top of the line stuff in the weight room. I really liked all of the stuff they had."
As you can see, Colin appears very impressed with what the Naval Academy has to offer. How impressed, you might ask? Impressed enough to make another trip up there this summer… "I really had a good time up their last summer," Colin said. "I'll be camping with them again this summer; I'm signed up already."
After being blown away by everything the Naval Academy has to offer him, it is almost safe to say that Navy has solidified a spot amongst his top choices. "Navy is definitely one of my favorite schools," Colin said. "They are in my top three. My top three right now consists of Stanford, Yale, and Navy."
Should Colin decide to make Navy his choice, he should have very little problem getting in. Right now the '09 prospect is sporting a 3.97 GPA in the classroom. He just recently took the SAT and made an 1120 (Math/Verbal) on it. He also scored a 22 on the ACT. He intends to study Medicine once he enrolls in college.
