Navy rarely passes and the Owls have a decent passing defense so look for an Owl edge here. Watch out though, Navy has been known to throw in a surprise pass for a long gain.

Both teams have struggled in these areas. However, Navy has steadily improved it's passing defense while the Owls passing offense has steadily declined. Navy started out the season allowing about 330 yards a game through the air but now that is down to 246 yards a game. Temple in week 2 averaged well over 200 yards per game through the air but now that total is down to 152 yards per game.

Special Teams

Navy kicker Matt Harmon has made 14 of 15 field goals this season. Temple Jake Brownell has struggled with kicking and has connected on just 5 of 9 field goals. The remainder of the Owls and Mids special teams units are solid except Navy has a marginal kickoff return unit (112th nationally).

Coaching
EVEN
Navy head coach Ken Niumatalolo is 5-3 (5-4 overall) in his first full year at Navy. Temple head coach Al Golden is 3-5 in his third season with the Owls. He seems to have Temple headed in the right direction despite enduring several heartbreaking losses.

Prediction:

Navy 27
Temple 17
