Hawai'i 24, Navy 17

HONOLULU-- Bryant Moniz passed for 366 yards and three touchdowns as Hawai'i withstood Navy's final drive to down the Mids, 24-17. Ricky Dobbs ran for 127 yards but was sacked on the Mid's last two plays as Navy fell to 8-4 while Hawai'i improved to 6-6 and kept its bowl hopes alive.

In second quarter Navy took a 17-10 lead on a Vince Murray 18-yard run. However, Moniz completed a 7-yard pass to Kealoha Pilares with just 6 seconds remaining in the half to knot the score at 17.

In the third quarter the Warriors retook the lead on a 14-yard pass from Moniz to Alex Green.

There were only three drives in the final quarter. At the start of that quarter the Mids drove to the Hawai'i 33 before Navy elected to punt. Hawai'i then drove deep into Navy territory before being stopped on fourth-and-1 at the Navy 16. The Mids quickly drove to the Warrior 41. However, Dobbs was then sacked on consecutive drives to end the game.

In the first quarter Dobbs scored on a 53-yard run to tie the score at 7. That touchdown run tied the college record for most rushing touchdowns in a season by a quarterback at 23.

Navy will now have two weeks to prepare for their annual game with rival Army on December 12. Hawai'i has one remaining regular season game and will need to defeat Wisconsin on Saturday in order to secure a possible bowl bid.
