Big 12 Teleconference: Bo Pelini/Paul Rhoads

Check out the notes from today's press conference with Bo Pelini as well as audio from him along with Iowa State Head Coach, Paul Rhoads.

Bo met with the media today via the Big 12 Teleconference. Two of the bigger issues were his starting quarterback, freshman Taylor Martinez as well as junior cornerback Alfonzo Dennard. Martinez was initially thought to have been sidelined in the Missouri game with a knee injury. But Bo said today that it was an ankle injury.

He also said that Martinez probably wouldn't practice today, but he was much better today than he was over the weekend. The same can be said about Dennard, who Pelini said suffered a concussion against Missouri as a result of his own teammate, sophomore Courtney Osborne running into him on a play. Dennard will probably not practice today, but his status this week is day-to-day.

Earlier in the Big 12 Teleconference, Missouri Head Coach Gary Pinkel said that he had submitted a tape to the league for review of a play where Osborne hit Missouri quarterback Blaine Gabbert. The hit appeared to be helmet-to-helmet, though, the actual contact between the two helmets could be interpreted as much a byproduct of Gabbert ducking as he was about to get hit as it may be looked at as a flagrant hit by Osborne.

When asked about the hit, Pelini said that he thought it was a "good" hit.

This last weekend Husker linebacker Eric Martin was the first player to be suspended by the league this year for a hit deemed to be flagrant. He's expected to be back for the Iowa State game this weekend.
