Ka'ai will host Nebraska soon

Finals are over for Koa Ka'ai and now he will get some time off over the holidays. Recruiting is still in full swing and even though a quiet period is starting up Ka'ai will be thinking about the places he's seen and places he wants to see. The Huskers are also talking about visiting him soon. What else has Ka'ai talked about recently with Nebraska?

School is out for holiday vacation and it's been a busy week for Koa Ka'ai. The standout defensive end from Honolulu (Hi.) Kamehameha had three tests the past two days, but nothing really today.

"Finals went pretty good," Ka'ai said. "I had one on Wednesday and two on Thursday. On Friday we have a big ceremony for the founder of our school. We just have that in the morning and then we were done."

Nebraska is still hard after Ka'ai, but that was something that Ka'ai was unsure of when Nebraska got a commitment from Max Pirman. Ka'ai hasn't hosted Nebraska yet, but he knows that they are coming to see him.

"Nebraska hasn't been here to see me yet. I am not sure when they are coming. I spoke to Coach John Papuchis recently about the other defensive end that they just got.

"Originally they told me that they were only taking one end so I wanted to find out about a spot for me. He told me that it didn't change anything for me and if I still wanted to come to Nebraska there was a spot.

"I don't know when they are going to make it down. Coach JP said that he was going to come down here on a Friday, stay over the weekend so he could see me twice in two weeks. No date on that though."

Ka'ai has been busy on the recruiting trail though taking a visit this past weekend to Arizona. Ka'ai compared Arizona to Nebraska and rated each visit one last time.

"I just took a trip to Arizona this past weekend. It went better than I thought it would go. Nebraska and Arizona both run four-man fronts. Tradition-wise nothing can touch Nebraska though.

"I would say that the visit to Arizona was an "8" or a "9", it wasn't perfect. The visit to Nebraska was a "10". That was a pretty awesome visit."

Ka'ai has always had the idea to take all five of his visits. One of the schools that have entered the picture recently since hiring a new coaching staff is Colorado. Ka'ai has a date tentatively set to see Boulder.

"I would like to see Colorado now since they have their new coaching staff. I have a visit set up there for January 24th, but that seems a little late. I will probably move that up to the first weekend in January."
