Two more visits for Hobbi

Cyrus Hobbi is going to have some time off then January is going to be a little hectic. Hobbi is set to take part in the Under Armour All-American game and also take his last two official visits. All of this after only being out of the season for just a few weeks after Scottsdale (Ariz.) Saguaro won another state title. Where is Hobbi visiting?

After a rough junior year Cyrus Hobbi has brought back a state championship to Scottsdale (Ariz.) Saguaro High School. Hobbi says that it's good to be part of the team to bring back the state title to Saguaro.

"The season went well," Hobbi said. "We won the state championship. It feels good to have it back at Saguaro. We finished up with a 12-2 record."

Hobbi wanted to improve from his junior to senior year in one key area: leadership. Last year there was a sever lack of seniors and overall leadership that led to a first in Saguaro history with Hobbi.

"It was definitely leadership. We only had a couple of seniors last year and I was a captain as a junior. A junior captain has never happened at Saguaro. It was just a lack of seniors. We had guys step up this year.

"You could see that lack of upper classmen and leadership last year because we didn't have those seniors. This year we had guys that had been on the same team for four years. It was a completely different type of team."

Hobbi has taken three visits now and has his fourth and fifth visits set up. The last two visits will come on the second and third weekend in January.

"I just took my third trip a couple of weeks ago. I visited Arizona State recently. I have two more visits coming up in January to USC and UCLA. I believe it's the 14th for USC and the 21st for UCLA."

Before the last two visits for Hobbi he will be heading to Florida to take part in an All-American game. It was an honor for Hobbi to be chosen and it's still a bit of a shock to see his name listed with the other names of the top players in the nation.

"I am going to the Under Armour All-American game in Orlando, Flor. in the next week or so. It's going to be so awesome to be around all of these other players that I have been researching online. I forget that I am one of those guys.

"It's kind of hard for me to really realize and put it all in perspective to consider yourself one of the best in America. I hope that I prove people right about my ability. It's tough to measure up in high school because you don't go that caliber of player all the time.

"I feel like I have gone up against a lot of division one guys. It's not something that I am scared of. I am used to it. If you standout on that field that's good news. That's exceptional."

Hobbi isn't in a hurry to decide on which school he will attend when he gets back from UCLA. He knows that there will be a right time when he knows in his heart, but it might be right after the visit or wait until signing day.

"I am not really sure when I will decide. I suppose it will probably be sometime between the last visit and signing day, but it might be on signing day. I am not really sure. It just depends if I am sure on where I want to go. That's why I want to take all of my visits."

Hobbi said that you could consider the five schools where he has and will take his official visits as his top five. But, he also said that you could say that three of those schools are standing out at the moment.

"I would call the schools that I have taken my visits to my top five. I would say that my last three visits to Arizona State, USC and UCLA are really my top three."
