Huskers Receive Points in Coaches Poll

The Nebraska basketball team was recognized for its strong start on Monday, as the Huskers received four points in this week's ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll.

It is the first time since Jan. 16, 2006, that Nebraska has received at least one point in the coaches poll. The Huskers, whose 13-2 start is the best since the 1991-92 season, have won 11 straight games dating back to a win over Hofstra on Nov. 21.

The Huskers are one of eight Big 12 teams receiving points in this week's poll, joining Kansas (3), Missouri (12), Texas A&M (13), Texas (14), Kansas State (20), Baylor (receiving points) and Oklahoma State (receiving points).

The Huskers head to Columbia, Mo., Wednesday night, as they take on the Missouri Tigers. Tipoff time is at 6 p.m. and the game will be carried on the Husker Sports Network and also televised in Nebraska on Fox Sports Midwest.
