Will still see Nebraska?

Nebraska is still looking for a cornerback in the 2011 class and had their eyes on Frankie Williams from Tampa (Flor.) Robinson high school. That was until the standout corner pulled the trigger on a commitment to Purdue on Saturday. After speaking with Coach Mike DePue and Frankie Williams this morning there might be a crack in the door for Nebraska to take advantage of.

The Nebraska official visitor weekend yielded no commitments and future official visitor Frankie Williams committed to Purdue before visiting Nebraska. Coach DePue confirmed the commitment, but said it might not be completely over.

"He did commit on Saturday to Purdue," Coach Mike DePue said. "I think that he still may go up to Nebraska this week though."

Coach DePue was able to track down Frankie this morning and Williams gave his thoughts on the commitment to Purdue.

"I committed on Saturday," Williams said. "I like the education that I can get at Purdue and it felt like home when I was there."

Williams went on to say that he was indeed thinking about taking a trip to Nebraska, but nothing was for sure yet.

"I am thinking about taking a trip to Nebraska now. I will know for sure about it tomorrow. It can't hurt because in my mind I am 100% committed to Purdue."

The interest from Nebraska in Williams is fairly new. That is to say that the Nebraska staff was in his school last week.

"Coach Tim Beck is my recruiting coach and Coach Bo Pelini was here with him last week. I would like to see the facilities at Nebraska if I take a trip."
