White pulls in NU offer

Some of the Nebraska coaches have only been in Lincoln for two weeks and Elijah White was only there for a few hours today, but left an impression. White is on his way back home right now from the junior day at Nebraska and has received a verbal offer from Nebraska. What did he think about the junior day and what does the offer do for him and his list?

Elijah White is heading home after junior day at Nebraska. The 5-foot-9 and 175-pound White from Conway (Ark.) had a good visit and really liked learning about the academics at Nebraska this weekend.

"It was good," White said. "It went really well. Mostly I liked hearing about the academic side of Nebraska, the graduation percentage of their student athletes and also seeing their new academic support facility."

White got a chance to meet the defensive backs coach at Nebraska. Coach Raymond hasn't been in Lincoln much longer than what White was in Lincoln today; still he made quite the impression on White.

"Coach Corey Raymond is a good coach. He played in the NFL and he seems like one of those coaches that can get me to the next level. He was telling me about the schemes that he is bringing with him to Nebraska next year.

"He's only been at Nebraska for a couple of weeks, but he knows Bo Pelini from LSU. He's just trying to get adjusted to Nebraska and his new surroundings. He seems like a very, very good coach."

The visit paid off in that White got to see what Nebraska had to offer and it was a good visit. It also paid off because White came away from the weekend with an offer from The Big Red.

"I got an offer today. It's a verbal offer. Coach told me that the real offer will come in the mail. Right now they are really, really high on my list. I don't have a top three or a top five really.

"I couldn't say that Nebraska is in my top three or top five. I couldn't say that anyone is. Nebraska is my sixth offer. I also have offers from LSU, Arizona, Arkansas, Ole Miss, Oregon and now Nebraska."

White is planning another trip to Nebraska already. He says that he will be back in Lincoln for summer camp later in June. "The coaches were talking to me about coming back up for camp. It's in June. I don't know which session I will come back for yet."
