McMullen talks Nebraska

Greg McMullen is no stranger to Nebraska. The standout defensive end from Akron (Ohio) Hoban is back in Ohio after seeing Lincoln on Friday and the spring game at Nebraska on Saturday. What did McMullen think about the trip and is he planning any other trips back to Nebraska later this summer?

The Huskers might be the leader for Greg McMullen and this past weekend he was in Lincoln again to see the annual Red-White spring game at Nebraska. He was able to see more than just the game this weekend though.

"I am back in Ohio," McMullen said. "We got on the plane around 8:00 this morning. I got to Lincoln on Friday morning. I was able to check out a lot of things this weekend.

"I got a good feel for the campus and got more in-depth with the people at Nebraska about the academics at Nebraska. It was a good visit."

On Saturday McMullen was back on campus and had a chance to catch up with the staff at Nebraska. He thought that the game went well with the players not only doing well on the field, but having some fun in the process.

"I spoke to the coaches on Saturday morning and had a good time. It was different because of the spring game. It was good. It was a great atmosphere at the game.

"I thought that the game was more than just a scrimmage; it was meaningful. They were having fun, but they were making sure that they were getting their jobs done on the field."

McMullen has come away from his visits to Nebraska and seeing them on TV thinking that he is a good fit. He thinks so because defensive ends at Nebraska need to be strong in every area.

"I think that I am a good fit for Nebraska. I am multi-talented because I can't just stop the run or rush the quarterback; I can do both. I think that I would fit in well."

Beyond the visit this weekend there aren't a lot of other plans for McMullen. He is going to worry about what he has to get done, but he is eyeing a trip back to Lincoln in June.

"Honestly I don't know right now. I am focusing on school work and workouts. I have to focus on the now. I am going to try and make it back to Nebraska for camp in June."
