"I am back home," Rose said. "I came home last night. We just went up Saturday morning and came back last night. We didn't get a chance to stick around."
While it was a short trip that didn't mean that Rose didn't get to experience a lot of things. Rose had big words for the game day environment and for the entire weekend in Lincoln.
"We got to talk with the coaches, talk to some players and met with some recruits that are coming in this year. We went down to the field through the tunnel walk and shook some fans' hands.
"We made it down to the field and got to see the players to warm up. That was pretty exciting to see that. The whole weekend and atmosphere was exciting."
Rose has experienced change at Nebraska. Since his commitment there was a change with his position coach and then his recruiting coach changed as well. All in all, there has been good effort after all of the changes were made.
"We are definitely growing that relationship with Coach Ross Els and Coach John Garrison. Coach Garrison really spent a lot of time with us and I really appreciate their effort in recruiting me.
"I thought that it would be a big change with two new guys recruiting me for Nebraska, but Coach Els and Coach Garrison have done a great job recruiting me."
There was a lot of face time with the coaching staff for Rose as you might expect. Rose is being compared to a current Husker which makes Rose realize that there is a lot of work in front of him to reach that potential.
"Sitting down and talking to the coaches before the game they said that with my size and explosiveness they see a lot of similarities with me and Lavonte David.
"I really appreciate that comparison because Lavonte is such a great player, had a great year last year and will have a great year this year. I have a lot of work to do to really be that good. I want to get myself ready for that new challenge at Nebraska."
Rose was only in Lincoln for a day for the spring game and recently he was in Lawrence for a Kansas practice. Rose though says that he's solid to Nebraska, has never waivered, but there was a need to make sure that he was making his decision for the right reasons.
"I have always been 100% to Nebraska in my heart and my mind since I committed. I didn't look at Nebraska and wanted to commit to just hold their offer. I know that Nebraska was the best place for me.
"My dad wanted me to make sure that Nebraska was the best place for me and because he's a big Husker fan, as well as I am, he wanted to make sure that I didn't have a biased opinion. He wanted to make sure it was right."
Rose isn't sure if he will get back to Lincoln for summer camp quite yet. He doesn't have a lot to prove to anyone, but there might be a need by him to get to Lincoln and work out with his future position coach.
"I am not sure quite yet. There's no need to, but it would be great to get under the direction of Coach Els. I am sure that it's going to be mostly the same.
"I would like to get up there and compete and see where I fit in when it comes to being measured with the others as being one of the best. It's all about proving something to yourself, have some pride and perform to the best of your ability."
