On Wednesday, BigRedReport.com talked with one of their newest offerees in the form of Sunrise Christina Academy (Kansas) guard Buddy Hield. The shooting guard is originally from the Bahamas and has played on their U-16 National Team.
"It's a good stepping point for me. Nebraska is a good school and has great academics. I really think that I could showcase my talent on the court at Nebraska," said Hield. The junior also knows of an offer from Wichita State, but says his coach is handling most of his recruitment.
"There are a lot of schools that I'm planning on visiting, Nebraska is one of them. Other teams showing me interest is Boston College, Colorado, Texas A&M, Clemson, Missouri, OU is recruiting me now. I'm really just starting the process."
So what is the self described "combo guard" who admits he's a great shooter looking for in his school of choice?
"I want a school that best fits me and my style of play. I don't want to go to a school where I don't see the court for a couple years. I want to play right away and the coach to include me in his game plan," said Hield. "I never imagined that my recruitment would get like this. I just keep praying to God that he keeps bringing them in and they hopefully all offer me scholarships. At this point, it shouldn't be hard for me to sign somewhere next year.
"At Nebraska, I definitely feel that I'm the type of player that could help them immediately."
