Westerkamp speaks on commitment

Describing it as the "right fit" for him, Illinois wide receiver Jordan Westerkamp is a Husker, news that first broke right here on BigRedReport.com.

After taking a spring full tour across the Midwest Lombard Montini (Ill.) wide receiver Jordan Westerkamp is a Husker.

Fox Sports and Scout.com Midwest Recruiting Analyst Allen Trieu first broke the news here on BigRedReport.com.

"I talked to Coach Pelini and let him know I am going to be a Husker," said Westerkamp. "I am very excited to be part of such a great program. I just felt like this was the best fit for me."

An all-star selection as a junior, Westerkamp caught 89 passes for 1600 yards and 23 touchdowns last season.

He told BRR's Josh Harvey after the Nebraska spring game, ""The game was great. They had about 70,000 people there. The fans definitely are into football there...They flashed a bit of the new spread offense they are going to be running this year. That was pretty exciting to see the ball in the air quite a bit."

Fox Sports and Scout.com will have more on his commitment later today.
