"We got back Saturday night," Shoff said. "I won state in shot put and discus. I got beat out to run in the 4x100m. I ran my fastest time of the year and a kid who never ran before ran .03 faster."
Shoff will be back in Lincoln in just a couple of weeks to take part in Nebraska's summer camp. He will be there for all three days and isn't thinking about picking up an offer while he is there. He just wants to work hard.
"I will be at the first session, June 7th through the 9th. I will be there for all three days. I really just want to perform. I am going there to become a better football player.
"I am listening to Coach Barney Cotton and I agree with what he said about ignoring all the other stuff beyond just coming to Lincoln and working out. Everything else will work itself out."
Things are definitely picking up for Shoff. He says that on average he gets mail from about 15 schools per day. He says that recently a PAC-12 school has started to show some big interest in him as well.
"Recruiting keeps picking up for me day after day. There seems to be someone new every couple of days sending me something. I get mail from 15 schools a day or so.
Shoff is still only holding that one offer from a Big Ten school, but he believes that things will pick up over the summer. He could conceivably pick up offers from the other two schools in his top three.
"I still just have the one offer from Iowa right now, but I believe that things will pick up this summer. I think that I can get an offer from Nebraska and Kansas State.
"I would say that those two are the closest to offering me. Oregon might be close too. Scott Frost is the coach that is recruiting me from Oregon. They haven't made it to my school though."
