Less than a month ago Arvada West high school's Paul Thurston told GBW he plans on making a late summer decision with the possibility of it creeping into the fall. Has that timetable changed? According to Paul he's right on track with his original plans.
"I haven't made a decision, I'm staying on the same track. I'll probably take one more visit. Now that it's pretty much all over I'm probably going to, this week, sit down with my parents, look at all the schools and figure out what school I still want to go out and see."
With the rumors swirling about Thurston's timetable being moved up, many believed it was the Wolverines sitting in prime position, but Paul isn't ready to claim a leader just yet.
"I definitely like them (Michigan) and everything. I haven't made a list so I wouldn't say they're at the top or anything—but I do like Michigan, along with Nebraska and all those other schools."
With Thurston's decision still coming this summer, the talented tackle prospect explains what will be important as his recruitment comes to a close.
"Looking at it from the trips and all that stuff—the weight room. Just by looking at all of the schools and seeing how they train, I think that will be a big one for me, making me strong and preventing injury. Other than that—coaching style, the offensive line coach as well. All of the places I went out to see—they all fit that so making a decision will be hard."
Stay tuned to GBW so we can let you know if and when anything changes in this recruitment.
Is Thurston moving his decision up?
